How to Play Simple Mahjong

Controls

Tap or click a tile to select it, then tap or click its matching exposed partner to remove the pair. Only tiles with at least one free side can be selected.

Scoring

Progress is measured by how cleanly you clear the board — the goal is to remove every tile before no legal moves remain.

When does a round end?

A round ends when you have cleared all tiles from the board, or when no matching exposed pairs are left to remove.

Tips & Tricks

Work from the top of the stack downward — freeing buried tiles early gives you more options later
Avoid matching a tile type when only two of that type remain and both are currently blocked; you may need one of them to unlock the other
The daily puzzle resets at midnight, so if you get stuck you can return with fresh eyes rather than burning through retries
Swap the tile and background style in settings if the default contrast makes similar tiles hard to distinguish at a glance
